In this chapter, the searcher attempts to understand the mechanics of the clock, but he is unable to do so because of the limitations of the human intellect. The searcher, however, is able to use electro-mysterious phenomena, such as the sound of a tapping on the strings of a clock, to deduce the gears of the core of the tower.
