The scene opens with Hiroyuki's visit to his father. Hiroyuki tells his father that he has tried to visit him many times, but that his father has prevented him from doing so. He tells him that he is forbidden from seeing his wife without him present, and he apologizes for that. He says that he will marry his wife and free her of her father, and that they will celebrate their wedding day. He then asks his father not to torment his wife too much, as it is a dream of his to marry her and see her wear only an apron for him to see that she does not have to marry him.
