In this second scene, Souda gives a little speech about the festival's beauty contests. He tells the audience that he's going to vote for Hiroshi and Nishiyama later in the day. Hiroshi tells Souda that he heard about the contest from someone else, but he doesn't know who it was. Souda tells him that the festival has to put a girl and boy in each of its classes to represent them in the contests, so they're going to have to put on a contest for each of their students. The girls will have to do a test to see if they've got what it takes to be a festival rep. They'll have to take a picture of themselves and a staff member, and then they'll be able to vote on who they think should represent their class in the contest. As the girls take their picture, they whisper to each other that they look like pop stars. They whisper even more when they see that Hiroshi has been staring at the menu all the time.
