Back at the stables, Ani says goodbye to her lover, and promises to have a "betrothal ceremony" once they're back. Ani is confused by the whole betrothal thing, since it's such a big deal. She wants to know what the ceremony is all about, but she can't figure out how to get over the fact that the king's father is giving his daughter away. Ani thanks the king for giving her the chance to meet him, and she's grateful that he's willing to let her marry someone she loves.
