The narrator tells us that Gokyou is going on a three-day business trip to the office of the senior managing director of the Tokyo branch of the bank. Haruki, the head of the sales team at the bank, is on his way there, too, so he's glad to meet him. He thanks Haruki for coming all the way to greet him, and Haruki thanks everyone for coming to his office. Everyone in the office is having coffee, tea, and juice, and they're having a meeting with everyone present. Everyone seems to be having a good time, and everyone seems to have their own drinks, which Haruki says is normal. The narrator asks Haruki if everyone drinks their own water, and he says that sometimes he does, but he doesn't ask anyone to do it for him.
