The narrator tells us that the young man is called "Sergio" and that he is the son of a "generously beautiful" woman named "Haruki" . The young man asks the narrator to come to his house so that he can "rest" and "reconside" with his new love. When the narrator arrives at the house, he finds that the house is very small and that the atmosphere is pleasant. He asks the girl if she is in love with the man, and the girl replies that she is, but that she has not yet decided whether or not she wants to marry him. The girl tells the narrator that her parents are very kind to her, and that she will soon be able to visit them again. The two young men discuss the possibility of getting married, but the narrator tells him that it is best not to rush into a marriage decision, as marriage is not a quick and easy decision.
