The chapter opens with Gokuchi's soliloquy, in which he laments the fact that he cannot undo what he has done and apologizes to Daiichi for his behavior. He asks Daiichi if he has anything for him, and Daiichi replies that he does, but that he would like to have a conversation with him before he moves. The chapter ends with a description of the manager of the branch where the incident took place. The manager is the same person that Gokhe was with when he made the remark, and he is also the same age as the young man in the story. The young man, however, is on his way to another branch.
