Four years have passed. Ruan and his mom have been hiding in the closet, and Ruan's dad has found out about the rouge he made in secret. He's mad and is going to punish Ruan for it. He tells Ruan to hide in his room and he'll keep an eye on him. When Ruan asks why he's being punished, his mom tells him that he hasn't told her why he was being punished. He says that he kicked the butts of the hooligans because he thought they might be carrying knives. He asks his mom to promise that she won't behave rashly in the future. She says that both of them are so cautious, and she asks Ruan if they can go outside and have fun. He suggests that they go fishing in the lake and then pick some fruits to make wine. He also tells his mom that the place where they're going is the safest place to be. He goes on to say that Ruan has never been to any dangerous places since he was a kid. He thinks that if Ruan is a bandit or a fugitive, it'll be too late.
