The charming bandit officer asks the head of the prison if he can take him to the dungeon to see the prisoners. The prison is guarded, and no one can come and go without the permission of the head officer. The head officer tells the charming bandit to shut up, because if he is afraid of dying he wouldnt have become a prison officer. He says that if his family doesn't see him before sunset they'll kill one officer every day, including his family. He wonders how many days it will be before it is his familys turn. He asks if the prisoners escaped alone or not, and he says that he is willing to accept the punishment. He also says that the prefect wants him to go back to the prison now, and that he should have known this when he knocked the prisoners out with his sleeping smoke. He tells him to hurry up, dump the prisoner into the river, and get some money from his bag before he dies. He has one last request, he says, and it is that he wants to be reunited with his brother.
