In this chapter, we learn that a bandit named A'cheng has sold his rouge to another man, and that the latter has gone to a brothel to buy it. In the meantime, Dr. Miao, the doctor, is having a hard time sleeping. He wakes up in the middle of the night to find that the other man has left the brothel and gone to sell his rouge. Doctor Miao tries to explain that he is still in love with the man, but the man is adamant that he must restrain his feelings for the man. He asks the doctor to check out his rouge, and the doctor agrees to do so. When the doctor returns, he finds that the man has gone straight to the brothel.
