In this chapter, we learn that the young man we met at the end of Chapter 1 is a second-year student named zhongziming. He tells us that he's never met zhong before, and that he doesn't remember the name of the person who gave him the appetite potion at the beginning of the chapter. He also tells us about an "exorcism talisman" that he and linyu obtained from a "sorceress" . The sorceress said that no one could touch the talisman, but that the only person who could actually touch it was zhong. Unsure of the man's identity, zhong asks if he also wants to find the woman he met in Chapter 1. Unsure, he asks his uncle to help him find her. Worried that he won't be able to find her, he tells his uncle that he wants to see him again. Confused, the man tells zhong to get out of his sight before his sanity disappears.
