The next morning, Lin learns that he got drunk the night before at a party with his classmates. He apologizes to the other students, who had to bring him home as well, and says that he wants to go back to the party the next time he has the chance. Lin asks where he bought the ice cream, and the narrator tells him that the doctor has told him that he cannot eat cold food, so Lin's mom only lets him eat it once a year. Lin tells the narrator that he looks like the dream demon, but they are very different people, and Lin is afraid that he is immune to hypnosis.
