Shimada rika, the leader of the Shimada clan, meets with the patriarch and the elder of the Li family. Shimada tells them that the li family owes him a debt and that he is indebted to the young master of the family for his leadership. He also tells Shimada that the young mistress, the li's youngest daughter, has pledged herself to the younger master. The elder Shimada apologizes for being rude to the two men, but Shimada points out that they are not worthy of the apology. He tells them to stop tailing them, or they will not spare Shimada's life
