In the midst of the elixir assembly, Lin asks Duyile if he's the leader of the sect. Lin says that he isn't, and that he doesn't want to be a part of the crowd that's gathering there. He also says that his alchemy is not great, because he can't pick out the best ingredients in the crowd. Lin wants to know if Duyeil is the kid by his side, and if he could be his disciple. He says he'll let him take three magical herbs from the golden crow hall collection if he beats him. If he loses, Lin will have access to the entire library of the martial elite hall. Lin compares the two of them, saying that they are so far apart in age that they're not even able to compete with each other in combat. Lin's alchemy is amazing, he says, because it's a "triple nourishment elixir" .
