In order to prepare for the upcoming postgraduate entrance exam, Renji prepares an elixir that contains nine elements. He compares it to a refined nine-element elixir, but he is unable to make it work. He resolves to try again. He tells the blade that the day of the entrance exam is approaching, and he must return to his hometown as soon as he can. He promises to give him enough bloodthirsty elixir to conquer the world. The blade refuses to leave Renji's body, but Renji convinces him to stay and fight with him. He is amazed at the memories engraved on his body by the blades of all ages, and Renji is certain that he will soon become a powerful martial warrior.
