In the palace garden, the sixth brother tries to convince the prince of daqi to help him with his plan. He tells the prince that he is from daqi and that he must not start another war. The prince is relieved that he knows the prince is a good man. The sixth brother tells Lin that he will not force Lin to marry if he does not want to. Lin is distressed, but the prince reassures him by saying that he has invited Lin as a friend and that no one will force him to marry. Lin, however, is surprised to see that the prince has dressed up like a man. Lin was so charming on the hunt that many ladies praised him better than the prince. Lin's sister, the younger sister, comes in and greets the prince and the prince's brother. Lin tries to tell the prince about his past love life but his father does not answer. Lin thinks that his father is afraid of women because of his first love.
