This chapter opens with Lin's cough. He's thinking of how to fix the flooding problem of the river. He doesn't know how to do it, but he's seen a lot of documentaries about it. He wants to do something about it, so he clicks on the "click if" button. He tells Lin that he needs to grow trees on the river's upstream to prevent future floods. He says this is a long-term project, and it will take generations to complete. Lin wants to marry Lin, and he wants to be the one to marry him. Lin says that he can't marry someone who's so good-looking and so good at what he does. He also wants to make sure that Lin is his own man.
