This is a locked chapterCHAPTER 28: SNEERING PICASSO
About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that a bomb has gone off at a subway station in Yokohama, killing five people and injuring many more. The police are still trying to figure out the cause of the explosion, but one of the victims was an eight-year-old girl. The girl's father is a member of the police's identification team, and he tells us that his son is around the same age as the girl who died in the explosion. The father wonders if the police can figure out a way to deal with the young man, but he also wonders if they can keep him in a mental institution instead of locking him up in the subway station. He says that he would feel bad doing that, but that they could keep him under their control instead. He also says that the lockers at the station have been blown up twice before, and that the same person is responsible for both of them. He plans to blow them up again on March 20. This time, he says, the lockers were blown up based on the contents and signature of the note, and it was clear that the incident was being orchestrated by one person. He wonders if this is a painting of random urban bombings, like the one by Pablo, or if it is an image of a sick man who has been injured in the blasts. He adds that he will blow up a concert for the cherrypie idol group on July 27 at the same station, and another bomb has already gone off, this time in the form of a note addressed to kase, who was critically wounded in the first explosion. He dies, bringing the total deaths to six.
