This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter, in which Hirokazu's father, Hiroshi, was killed by his son. The flashback shows that Hiroshi and his son were ambushed by Hirosaki's men, and that Hiro's body was carried away in a hail of bullets. As the bullet hits the body, the two men are interrupted by the sound of a gunshot. The men run away, leaving Hiroshi to fend for himself with his sword.
