The Governess tells her daughter-in-law that her father is going to punish her, but she can't bear to watch it happen. She tells the Governess that she's going back to fetch her sister, who's still unconscious. She's so worried about her sister that she can barely turn around and wait for her to come back. When she hears her father's voice, she runs to him and begs him to let her in. She asks him to take her to her sister so she can tell her what's happened.
