In this chapter, Carter's mother is still at Sotheby's auction, two months before her birthday. Carter tells his mother that he's going to give her a try at being a queen. He's confident that she'll do a good job, and he thanks her for her help in getting the job. He says he'll get back to work on the design soon, and Carter thanks his mother for all of her help. He also thanks his son-in-law for standing next to him and for being such a good person. He thanks his wife for being so nice to him, and she says she's jealous that he has such a nice family. She's also jealous that his parents aren't around to help him with his research.
