The maid, Miss Su, tells the young man that she does not know what Mr. Quayle sees in her, for example, that she has been trying to find a place to put all of the clothes in her house. Miss Su says that she did not expect Miss Su to know what was going on, but that she heard it from her old schoolmate. The maid asks Miss Su if it is okay for her to reveal that source of her information so easily, and she says that Miss Su never thought that she would actually make such a disclosure. Angry, she also wants to know how Miss Su managed to crawl her way up to this point. She says that the script does not say that she will meet such a man, and that she is afraid she will cheat on her husband. She asks him if he would marry her, and he says that he would. He asks her if they know each other, and the maid says that they do. She wonders how she could have hurt a girl with leukemia, and wonders if she had the heart to do such a thing
