In this chapter, we find out that little Qian is in love with the Governess. The Governess tells us that she's sorry that she didn't tell her father sooner, but that she can't bear the pain of having to kick him out of the house again. She says that when she brought her son into the world, she wanted him to be a good person, but he turned out to be an awful one. She apologizes for making him suffer, and says that she wishes they hadn't brought the matter up at school. She admits that she chased little qian away when he first came to see her, and that he still remembers her. Little Qian, she says, is now with someone, and he is really happy. She tells Little qian not to tell his dad about their relationship yet, because it will be hard for him to accept that they've been together for so long. She also tells him that if he doesn't like it, he might have to kick her out again. But she says that they have a long way to go before they can tell their dad, and they don't have to rush things. She wonders how little qians dad is doing, and she wonders if he's doing well. She's worried that he'll make an unreasonable demand, and if he does, what will he do? He's already told her that he isn't interested in being her heir, and now she wants to make sure that he can have heirs. She wants to get the doctor to tell her that she has left everything to little Qians.
