The narrator tells us that he's back in china. He's found a guy named Senior qiu. He wants to talk to him about the past, but Senior is too busy packing his things to give him any time to talk. He tells the narrator that lydia told him to be careful with this guy. Senior says that's not jealousy, but that he needs to protect the guy. He apologizes for his mistakes, and says that he was ignorant of what was going on when he broke off with her. He says that now that he understands, he doesn't blame her for leaving him. The narrator says that Senior has grown up a lot over the years, and that he can't understand why the rich guy keeps on living the way he does.
