The narrator tells us that he's been spending a lot of time thinking about his feelings lately. He admits that he was avoiding Cai--but that he didn't really do anything wrong. He feels a bit embarrassed about it. He asks if he still has feelings for him, and Cai says that he does. He's relieved that the narrator doesn't have to worry about him anymore. The narrator wants to know if the two of them still have feelings for each other. He says that since they already know each other's troubles, they can talk about it later. He wants to be the top of the heap, and he wants to make sure that Cai is the bottom. He thinks that they can do it on even days and on odd days, but that they should discuss it on Sundays. He also wants to try to be top on days when he'll be the one who's doing the work, and on days where he won't be. He even wants to sleep over at Cai's house so that he can do the work. He tells Cai that he will try his best to cooperate, and that he is willing to do so if it makes him happy. Cai is touched by this, and says that if they can make each other happy, then he will be willing to cooperate.
