The two young men argue about whether love is a "taboo" or a "normal" thing to do. They argue about what it means to be different from one another, and about whether or not it's okay to interfere with someone else's relationship. The two men finally agree to get up and go to bed. The narrator tells us that he's going to confess his love to his parents this time, and that he wants to do it in front of them. He's nervous, but he promises to be happy if everything goes according to plan. He wants to tell his parents that he loves them and wants to marry them, and then he can put on his wedding ring. He doesn't want to say this, so he says, "If I don't, then I can't marry you." The narrator is all, "Gee, I've never been in this situation before, and I'm not sure how to react to this." But he promises, "I'm going to tell my parents that I love them and that I want to be married to them." And then he kisses her, and she's like, "Stop being insatiable!" The narrator says that she'd like to tell her parents that she loves them, too, but she'll have to wait until she gets back to her parents' house to tell them about it. She's so nervous that she starts to cry, and the narrator tells her to stop being "invasive" and stop being so happy. She kisses him again, and they kiss again. He tells her
