The song opens with a soliloquy in which the protagonist tells his mother that she is too busy to celebrate her daughter's birthday. He tells her that he will celebrate her birthday next year and that she should not make a fuss about it. He also tells her to go to her father's house and order a cake for her. He says that his brother broke a tiny piece of the cake and that it will be a waste for her to throw it away. The protagonist then tells his mom that he has been disappointed in her, that she has always been doing things for herself. She has not told him about his birthday in advance, and he has not given her a gift. He wants to know more about her, where she is from, places she's lived, her family and siblings, and everything she never mentioned before. He asks her to tell him everything about her past and present. She says that she was ugly and that there is no need to talk about the past. He then sends her a group graduation photo, and a picture of her in the past, but she does not respond to him. She asks him to give her more time.
