In this short scene, Madame Pernelle tries to convince Madame Guinevere to keep her promise to protect the king. She tells him that if he does not do so, she will spare him the trouble. She also tells him to remember that he is her husband, and that she will never forget him. She says that even if she loses her memory, she can always remember him.
