The Runaway Wife

This chapter opens with a soliloquy by Yulan. He tells his mother that he is in love with her and that he will marry her. She tells him that he should not worry because they will be together for the rest of their lives. She says that she will be faithful to their marriage and protect their love. She promises to make Yulan stay with her forever.
