In this chapter, we find out that the protagonist has been hiding out in a cave in order to protect himself from the people who live in the real world. He's worried that they're going to find him and kill him, so he's going to hide out in the cave and pretend to be invincible. The caveman asks if there's a time when he can take off his hood, but he can't because he has to protect his most important person. In other words, he can only take off the hood when he needs to protect the person he loves the most. This is why the caveman has to hide in the first place. He says that if he were to kill Zimo, he'd be able to do it with his own body, since he'll be indestructible until the point at which he can no longer do it. He wants to go back to Zimo's cave and tell him that everything is fine, but the guy who wants to kill him won't let him go.
