In this chapter, we learn that the girl has been devoured by a mirror. The girl's father has been blamed for the incident, and the curator has been sent to the evil museum to rescue the girl. The curator, however, is trapped in the mirror and is unable to free the girl from it. The only way to rescue her is to find the soul of the girl inside the mirror, and then bring it out. The narrator explains that the mirror reflects the real world, and that the world is the mirror of the mirror world. In other words, everything in the world reflects the world in which it is found, and no one can create anything in that world.
