About This Chapter
The police car arrives at the scene of the crime. It's a police car, equipped with a "guided missile" . The police officer tells the boy to follow him to the police station. He tells him that the crime scene is safe, and that he'll treat the boy well. The boy tells the police officer that he doesn't want to be a bad boy, and the officer tells him to take him to a "family big box delivery" for him. The officer shows the boy the results of the preliminary test, which shows that the plant they found is still alive. The blood in the plant's mouth is a "kind of toxin" that can "destroy the nervous system." The officer says that they'll learn more after they examine the body of the constables, but he's not qualified to do so. He says that he wants to return to his hometown and become a farmer. The man who found the plant, a professor at a university nearby, says that it's impossible for him to know anything about the plant. He also says that the university is so ignorant that he didn't even know that it existed. The cop tells the kid to go outside and talk to him, but the kid won't listen. He wants to know more about the boy's past. He asks the cops to make up a love story for the boy.
