In this chapter, we learn that the bridge group has come to see the witch, and that she is the real one. She tells the group that they should go back to their families and forget about the mountain spirit. If they don't, she says, they'll all die, and mom will lose her power. The bridge group is shocked, and the witch says that she can't imagine her life without them.
