This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the witch. She tells the reader that she is on her way back to the countryside to visit her family. She asks the reader to take some photos of her and her children. She says that she hopes that her children will grow up in a beautiful and healthy environment in the future. The witch tells her that her child will be the next victim of the mountain spirit if she does not return after she leaves. She explains that the reason for her existence is that she will willingly sacrifice herself for her child if the need arises.
