The narrator tells us that the previous few days, Hu has been disappearing, and that he's been followed by a group of young people. One of the young people, named Xiaofan, has been following him, and the narrator is worried that Hu will think that she's a stalker. He tells her to be careful, because he hasn't seen anyone like her in a long time. He gives her some snacks, and tells her that she can go home on her own if she wants. She agrees, and they go for a walk together.
