"Something stupid" , the monster says, is what he just did. He's just trying to help the girl find her missing husband. He doesn't mean to cause trouble, he just wants to help her find her husband. The monster says he'll encourage the others when the situation gets tough, but he admits that he's already been in similar situations as they are. He asks where his silver comb is, and his mom says she's been looking everywhere for him. He wants to know why she brought him to this place, and she says it was because of an agreement between the mountain spirit and the witch. The witch says that the next witch is supposed to take over the place of the old witch, and that's why they brought him here. The mother says that they'll ask the mountain spirits to release her and her husband, but she'll have to be polite.
