In this chapter, Lin learns that she is pregnant. She tells the boy not to tell anyone about the pregnancy. She also tells him that her mother told her that love was something that she needed to earn by herself. She asks the boy why his mother has to be someone else's mistress. The boy tells her that he wants to go to his father. Lin tells him to call her if he needs anything.
