In this chapter, Shmoop reflects on the fact that the role of the lead man in a movie has always been out of reach for him. He realizes that he has promised to marry Shu-Kyu some day, but that his fan service won't work on him, so he's going to stay home and watch a movie instead of going out to meet with someone. He tells us that he and Shu have been having an affair for a month now, and that she's been drinking on him every day. He's shocked that she would do such a thing, since he'd already been drinking with her for six years. He says that Shu's manager has strict rules about what women can and cannot do in a relationship, so it's hard for her to have sex with other men. He admits that he used to be an actor, but now he has to work early every day to make ends meet. He wonders if a woman has to be in a state of "mental state" to be attracted to someone who has already had sex with another man.
