About This Chapter
The Governess tells the Governess that she's thrilled to have met her. She tells him that she wishes she could have been an extra or something, but that she doesn't have a lot of money, so she just works as a schedule-obsessed person. She's happy that she has solved the mystery of the missing man. She wants to know what's wrong with the band on her hand, and she wonders if it's because she works as an extra, or because she spends so much time with the man on her day off. She wonders why he hasn't responded to her letter, but she can't figure out why he didn't respond to her one day. So she tells him to just go about his everyday life, like always, and wait for him to respond. He's probably going to say something, she says, and then he's going to realize that she was the one who applied for the job, and he'll recognize her as the girl he was looking for. She says she'll go with him because he might notice them if they're at the theater, and that he might be able to recognize them if he sees them there. She also says that she used the lipstick she did for the commercial, and the man shut it down because it was too ridiculous. He says he'd like to see her again, and tells her to tell him more about her everyday life. She explains that she does not leave her house very often, so even her closest friends are sick of her. And she says she never carries her private number around with her, because she always gives it to people she meets for the very first time. She asks him if he was just acting on a whim, but he says that he was acting on the assumption that he would get a response from the man. He tells her that she should just ignore him when he stops the elevator and get out, because he is a jerk. She agrees with him, and says
