The next morning, Hirokazu starts to feel better. He's finally gotten his ship approved, and he's happy to be back in Japan. He wants to see his brother, Hiroyuki, who's celebrating his birthday in February. But Hiroyuki isn't at work, so he doesn't have a gift for his brother. He asks Hiroyuki what he should give his brother for his birthday. Hiroyuki says he'll give him a present: "Your gift is me. That's one way of approaching b. . but i'd be surprised if we're really ready for that." Hiroyuki tells him that he was supposed to go to a premiere party, but that he had to take a day off to work on a press junket. He tells Hiroyuki that he'd like to give Hiroyuki something to celebrate his birthday, but Hiroyuki's mom won't be happy about it. He also tells her that his heart is beating faster than usual, and that he thinks that his crush on Hiroyuki is developing. He says that after drinking too much the night before, he will be "unconcious" in the morning.
