In this chapter, the narrator tells us that he is in love with "zheng shu" , and that his crush is "jiang nan" . He tells her that she has discovered that he loves her, but that he does not want to abandon her, because he likes "him" even more than she loves him. He says that he has to confess his feelings to "him," because he is afraid that if he does, they will become "strangers" if they have remained friends for so long. He wants to share his feelings with her, so that she will confess her love to him and he will treat her as a friend.
