Ren tells his grandfather that he's made great progress in his research. He doesn't want to become a doctor like his father. Ren says that if his father takes Ren and his mom to the theater today, he'll protect both of them. Ren tells him that his mother has been waiting for the play a long time, and that the performance was awesome. He says that all he ever talks about is money, but the play really cost a lot. He compares the performance to a dream, and says that he appreciates him, but he can't say no to the amount of money that was paid to him. He promises to spare Ren's life.
