The chapter opens with a discussion between the two young men. He tells the young man to go and eat. The young man says that the food tastes better when it is marinated, because it has "more flavour" . He also says that by removing some of the "force attributes" in the ingredients, you can have a completely different "physical and mental enjoyment" , which is why it is better to eat with a group of people than to just say "come and taste" the food. He says that this is the first time he has ever eaten such food, and he is very satisfied. The messenger from the parliament has announced that the elite army is going to destroy the laboratory in the human territory if it is found out that the government is using it for research. He asks if this is how the government usually does it, and the messenger replies that it is more than that. He adds that the parliament also included a list of the elite soldiers who are planning to suppress the lab. The two young people discuss the mission, and they both say that they are nervous about it. The first time they were assigned for a combat mission, they were given only one set of armor, which was embarrassing.
