In this chapter, the reader is introduced to the concept of the "force," which is not a static force, but rather a dark force that exists between the dawn and the eternal night. The force is not limited to humans, however, because there are many different races that inhabit different parts of the world. For example, the dawn force is said to exist between the two eternal nights, but only a few humans can experience the original force. In other words, the force exists in all the different places of the universe, but there is no force that corresponds to its original nature. This is why the word "eternal night" is used to refer to the land that is now known as "the eternal night continent." This land is described as a place where all the races of the empire once lived together, but now they are separated from each other by the distance of a month.
