This chapter opens with a conversation between Zong-jing and the other officers. Zongjing asks if there's anything wrong with the kid, and the officers tell him that he's fine. They don't say anything about whether or not the kid's alive, but they do say that the kid was sent by Lin-Shui. They're not saying anything about what's going on with him, though, because they're afraid that if the kid is hiding something, people won't want to spare him a life. This is a weird thing to say, because the upper class doesn't really care about the lives of ordinary people. They just want to make sure the kid gets the best training possible. The officers say that they'll do the same thing for the kid. They tell him to memorize the chest-impacting-node technique, which is basically the same technique that was used on the guy in the previous chapter. They say that even if he is a genius, he'll still be a normal person once he gets hit by a bullet. They leave, and Zung-jing asks him if he was feeling well. He says that the instructor told him that something was wrong with his cultivation, and that he should adjust to it. He's not sure who the instructor is, but he says that she'll be the one to help him get better.
