In this chapter, Caixuan explains how he nearly killed himself. He feels that he has been cautious in his life, but now that he is impulsive, he feels that his whole body has been torn apart. He realizes that the seven followers of the Luochen clan just went to search for two outer disciples and killed both of them. He wonders if the clan sent a foundation-building cultivator to kill the two disciples. He believes that the strength of the old man is sufficient to kill both of the outer disciples, and that the young master's strength is sufficient for the task at hand. The old man, he says, is the strongest member of the family and the strongest person apart from him. The young master, he believes, is a disciple of the ninth level of condensation, and he will not come back until he has killed all of the outside disciples.
