About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which Caixin tells the story of how he met Miss zhou. Caixin says that he passed the trial to learn about plants, and now he's the first place on the jade tablets. He's so happy that Caixin forced him to do it. He compares the jade tablet to a game of cards, where the first player wins and the second player loses. He also compares the first game to the game of chess, where each player has to guess which player is the better player. This time, Caixin guesses correctly that the first person to guess correctly is Caixin. The second player wins, and the third player wins. The first player guesses correctly, the second guesses correctly and so on. The third player guesses incorrectly, the fourth guesses incorrectly and the fifth guesses incorrectly. The sixth player guesses wrong and the seventh guesses correctly. The fourth player guesses right and the first guesses wrong. The fifth player guesses correct and the sixth guesses right. The seventh guesses wrong, the eighth guesses right, the ninth guesses correct, the tenth guesses correct. The eighth guesses wrong again and the ninth guess corrects it. The tenth guesses wrong then and the eleventh guesses right again. The ninth guesses wrong now and the twelfth guesses right then. The ten-year-old Caixin thinks that this is a joke, but he realizes that it's actually a serious joke. He realizes that the turtle is ugly, and that the man who drew it must be a genius at plants. He thinks that the young man must have escaped from the clan, because he can't keep one stick
