About This Chapter
Even a father still wants to eat with his kids. He tells them to eat some more, but they can't eat all at once, so he has to make another stop. He's worried that they'll eat too much, but he wants to teach them how to cook on their own. He says he'll try to hide it from them while they're together, but it's hard to do when you're spending so much time together. He doesn't want them to think that he's hiding anything, but then he realizes that they don't really want to hide anything from him either. They're just like, "hey, dad, I'm here to check you out" , and that's fine, he says. Kids are so honest, he tells them, and they've got no one to depend on but themselves. It's so cruel to destroy someone's important, he warns them, because it'll only get worse when they grow up and realize how cruel it is. He wants to tell them the whole story before he leaves.
