In this chapter, the monster explains how he managed to destroy his "virtual shadow." He explains that he sealed his sound spirit with three heads, but split it into three parts. The sound spirit was able to free himself and get air, but the soulless body he was using was nothing like a self-conscious body. He asks the drum grandmaster to give him his fairy dan. The monster explains that the seven soul-sealing needles have been completed, and that after 49 days, the soul will be refined and disappear from the world.
