In this chapter, the monster explains that he is not a monster, but rather a lowly sparrow who has been killed by the evil sparrow. He tells the sparrow to kill the souls of the seven souls, and to return to dust and become nothingness. The sparrow will die, and the soul of the monster will be destroyed. The monster asks the sparrow why he needs to be killed.
